All the Things You Never Knew That Barcelona & Vancouver Have in Common

by in spain, travel

In case you don’t already know, Barcelona is fantastic. As in, Vancouver-fantastic. World-class-city-fantastic. A status often brought on by having hosted the Olympics perhaps.

I knew this place was amazing when I stepped off the airplane and into the city via very easy, very modern public transportation. Barcelona was a glimpse of home for me here in Europe, granted somewhat sunnier than the wet west coast of Canada in March. But Barcelona has parks, and beaches, and a port, and people – friendly locals, happy tourists; book markets and food markets and efficient, inexpensive public transportation. It has art. And life. And salty air. And amazing food. And diversity. And “mountains”. And it’s clean. And lovely.

And I can’t wait to go back.

Jeanette! I absolutely LOVE your blog! So glad I got to meet you and now follow along with some of your Euro adventures that I’m dreaming of having again soon myself! Love this article about Van and Barc being similar. I was in Barcelona only for 3 days, but I saw a lot and it made an impression for sure! Can’t wait to get back there soon.

I absolutely love Barcelona. I’ve been many times but each time I discover something new to love about it! There is nothing quite like this city but Vancouver is a great comparison.
