Free Art from Burnaby Heights

by in art, burnaby, photography

I’m a big, big fan of my North Burnaby neighbourhood, The Heights.  While I’m away from home, I miss my Hastings Street apartment, the friendly people at the nearby shops and restaurants, the Eileen Dailly leisure centre as well as regular chats with my dear, sweet neighbour and long-time Burnaby resident, Maria.

I shot this picture when I first moved into North Burnaby, as soon as Cioffi’s got the sign up and swinging again. It’s neon, it’s iconic and it’s just plain cool, much like The Heights!

If you would like to have an original print of this photo (4″x 6″) sent to you or a friend by mail for free leave a comment below. One commenter will be selected to receive this print by post. Yayyy, FREE ART!

I am using this free artwork project to connect with people from around the world, share my photography and hopefully brighten someone’s day by bringing something online to life, to someone’s hands, eyes and home.

Great pic! I grew up in NorBurn and have many memories of the Helen sign. I’m still a bit sad that the new one doesn’t seem to swing, but it’s always a reminder that I’m close to home.

I always loved the Helens sign (since it’s also my name). So glad it has been resurrected – definitely an icon for the Heights.
