Travel Bloggers Unite in Assisi

by in italy, photography

I was fortunate enough to participate last weekend in the Travel Bloggers Unite conference held in the lush region of Umbria at the expansive Valle di Assisi Resort just outside of Santa Maria degli Angeli, Italy.

The weekend was rich; full of relevant content, motivating speakers, vibrant people and endless Italian food, wine and espresso. Incredible Umbrian views could be spotted in every direction – truly a travel blogger’s dream!  Barring a few logistical and organizational issues that pervaded the weekend including spotty wi-fi (a catastrophe for bloggers!), it was overall a successful and inspiring weekend.

Immediately following the closing of the conference bloggers dispersed, making their way into Assisi to capture the remains of the evening and dramatic skies on camera, in search of more cuisine and camaraderie.

It was very important to me to visit the Basilica of San Francesco and I did just that; below are a few of my favourite snaps from that day’s stroll in Assisi.

Stay tuned for more blog posts from the fun and informative post-conference trips in the region of Umbria including a lesson at the Perugina chocolate school, boat tour around Lake Trasimeno and visit to the Brunello Cucinelli factory and estate.

Stunning photos! It was such a beautiful place but you’ve really captured it well. Can’t wait to see the rest of them from the trip!
